I had these radios when I was a kid and the range was shit. You could literally yell about as far as they would transmit. When I saw the movie and the distance they were talking I was like YEAH RIGHT!

Good benchmark/ Maybe it would be more accurate is the UV-5R and the FT-4X had shared the same antenna, which is SMA female. I'm happy with my FT4-XE, looking towards a second set like FT- 65 while returning my Blaspheming UV-5R to partly fund it. At the end of the day, the best device in this upload was the camera! 🎥 Really good.

That does nothing except make the radio run hotter. It takes 4 times the power to get 6 db of gain, 1 S unit.

How does it work with a bluetooth headset? Would it work with a motorbike bluetooth, for example?

it is good if they put type C charging on battery or on the radio. so you can charge it on powerbank. Baofeng has a type C charging on upgrade battery. I wish yaesu will upgrade and put type C on their battery or radio.

Quanheng plus, It's strong 💯 more than 10W on VHS, (full battery) but oryginal antenna weak. Range 30 km ok, on 669c baofeng antenna. I check 😀

One thing annoying to this radio is the squelch tail elimination (STE) when using a duplex frequency with the ctcss setting. But overall i love it

AT-778UV mic gain Hello 6:03 Like some others, working with the same set, i also get reports of low audio levels. I know there is no Mic Gain option, but does anyone know if AnyTone will (or has) update(d) the firmware ?? I saw that Retevis have released new firmware for their RT-95 which INCLUDES a Mic Gain as a menu option. Is anyone here knowledgable enough to know if the Retevis firmware can be used for AnyTone? When a programmer says, he hopes and never see’s the back of that hand mic you know or at least I know I’m not going to tackle that very smoothly. I’m only 1 year into my CB life with a mobile galaxy 33 in the truck on a Wilson 1000 and a cobra NW (mobile basestation) on a foot warmer in the living room running off a (again rookie) patriot fiberglass 2 piece for very cheap and put that on top of my old windmill tower it’s like 50’ up there with fresh RG213 coax 150’ . It works great and I’ve met multiple locals that have helped me out with radios power supplies meters and most importantly the knowledge of playing radio. It’s been fun but recently have been looking into better ears and will definitely be going back up that tower 1 more time , I don’t necessarily want BEAMS that I can rotate it’s really windy and gusty so must find a good wind resistance one that’s simple . Maco maybe? IDK but what I do know is I made a hobby with this radio stuff and it really creates positivity and friendship and to learn something new. The biggest thing I’ve learned is it doesn’t take much to play but to be good at it requires some practical skills that anyone can learn with simply keying down and talking. Always be kind and respectful and the possibilities are unlimited. There are two versions. The UV-25 and the UV-25 Pro Max. The second on has a scramble option in the menu and airband. Inside this bendable antenna is a very thin antenna like the Signal stick.

I need to see one of those batteries open . One of my first baofeng's i dropped the mic so after that drop something was ratteling inside i opened it upp and low and behold they glued in a piece of rusty iron to give it weight lmfao .

If you bend that goosneck 90 degrees are you then Horizontal or verticalli polarized with your signal or does that just make it an omnidirectional an antenna lmfao this is getting confusing hahahahaha.
